Day 7 : My Epiphany =)

Hi everyone! Well, well...I have definitely grown today, it seems, as I have been pondering my plans over this period coming up! As you all know, we have the 48 Week Challenge... broken up into phases of 4 weeks. I originally thought I would break up my plans with different types of plans throughout each phase, but am rethinking that idea. I spent the last week off to a great start and then rapidly veering downhill at breakneck speed to where I suddenly found myself up against a wall and in dire need of a new plan since my current one is not working for me. Well, in actuality, it is working just fine, its me that isn't working! You see, when you are doing any type of detox or fast, you don't just change what you are doing so drastically and then BAM you are healthy. You have to struggle a bit as you go through it, so you must be ready to deal with that battle! Essentially, you have to be willing to fight your body and your mind to get through the tough spots! lst for me, well, my mind and body need to get on the same page...

Day 5... Sooo Slllleeeeeeppppyyyy

Hi Everyone!  I certainly hope you are all well and enjoying your New Year! 2012 is going to be one amazing year.. I can FEEL it!! But I have to tell you... I am sssoooooo tired! This detox is definitely underway, even with it only a partial fast at this point! I think I am headed towards the clearing with coffee though... the headache was minimal today. Green tea was definitely a big help! I almost forgot to tell you guys... Wednesday nights I will NOT be doing videos or blog posts because that's "Date Night" in our house... which we keep religiously! So, I don't want you guys to think I am avoiding you ahhaha... its not that, it's just that I don't want my husband to think I'm avoiding him!

SO, what's on your guys' minds? Are you juicing 100%? Or partially? How is what you are doing working for you? Do you feel like you are in a positive direction? Post a comment down below for us all to discuss!

Day 3 : Moving Right Along with Good Planning!

Well thank goodness for getting stuff done ahead of time! Since I got my juicer and all the stuff I needed for today ready to go before the morning, it made this morning smooth sailing! Took my juice to work and made it through the day The only thing I need to do more of is add in my green supplements! Have you guys ever taken those? Well, I love the ones I have. I'll tell you all about them tomorrow, but for now, here is the video update for today, Day 3:

REMEMBER: You are the only one who is going to save yourself! There is no one coming for you, you must make it happen folks!! (Yes, this is what I remind myself of daily as well!)

Mmm... Green tea!

Did you know that green tea is filled with antioxidants? It is! But do you actually know what an antioxidant does or why they are so awesome for you? Well, basically they go in and help your cells fight off things like cancer and disease which begins with the oxidation of cells (or breakdown) in your body. Why don't you click here and learn more about why I think that green tea is so great for me to drink: http://health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/food-nutrition/facts/antioxidant1.htm

Today Was a Difficult Day, I Must Confess...

Today has been a difficult day, I must confess. Not in terms of feeling icky, but in terms of commitment. I think the hardest part of something like this is not giving up, not allowing yourself to feel like a whole day is a "wash" just because you screwed up and couldn't resist that piece of pizza sitting in the fridge calling your name cause you waited too long to eat and fill your body with nutritious juices then realized you needed to clean your juicer so you could make juice and then everything just seemed to blur together and next thing you know there is no more pizza in the fridge and you are feeling full...oh, sorry, that was a little ranty, wasn't it? Well, as it seems, today is on the downhill slope as was my ability to overcome temptation and not give in to that nasty binge problem that sits on my back all the time. But that is not to say I'm starting over. No, I think that is the necessary part - to not feel like you have "fallen off of a wagon", or a horse, or a chariot, or a house, whatever it is that you normally fall off of, but that you remain committed to getting back up off your tush and making a go at it again. It's the never stopping that gets you places. The starting over and over? Well, that's what's kept me here for so long. So, there it is. I told you guys I'd be open, honest and naked for you, and now you know. I suck. But only for a little bit and then I'm awesome again. That's just what I have to remember! So, here's to tonight and tomorrow and the rest of the days and staying awesome... Let's do this!

Day 1 of the Official End of My World Health Detox!

Here we are!

So it's the First Day and it went well =)  Here's the video update!

Let the Show Begin!!!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad you are here! This is going to be a lot of fun, and a lot of work, but it will ALL be worth it!! I hope by now you have had a chance to go to the contest entry page and followed all the directions to what to do to enter! If you get confused, JUST EMAIL ME! You can always reach me at changingherlife@gmail.com.

So, how is your Day 1 going? Mine is a slow start. I slept in late (was up wayyy to late last night!) and started my day off slowly with some water, and a banana. Yep, a banana. But that's a PIECE of fruit!! Yes, it's OK to have pieces of fruit during this detox, in fact I recommend it in the beginning especially to curb the desire to be chewing on something. Plus, fruit has a lot of sugar, so you can actually have the sensation that it is a special treat!

Some of the suggestions I have for pieces of fruit are:
Bananas
Avocado
Mango
Melon
Pears

Do you notice a pattern here? These are all soft fruits! Why? Well, they are the easiest for your body to digest because they don't have a lot of rough fiber in them, so you will barely be eating anything much more than what you have in the juices you are making! =)

Personally, I think a half of an avocado a day during this time is fabulous not only because they are filling, but they are GREAT for your hair and skin! You are going to notice a lot of changes during these next several weeks, so it's always nice to have some of them to feel like good ones, you know? (If you don't know, go over to my post about stages of detoxification to prepare yourself for what's to come!)
I hope you guys are all getting started and enjoying your first day of what I think is going to be an amazing year!!

Happy New Year everyone!!

xoxo ~ jamie
